After living in an apartment and paying rent for 24 years, where I raised my daughter, volunteered in the community, help my neighbors in time of tragedy I was practically forced out by a new owner who took over the complex and completely turned it upside down. After agreeing to sign a month to month lease so I would have time to prepare or find another place to live, I received another’s notice where I was told that due to the condition of the apartment I would have to move out. Mind you these conditions are due to poor management from previous owners. I agree it was not in the best shape but I begged previous owners to take care of the leaks which were causing mold and mildew. But I was willing to sign a lease with new management to keep from being Outdoors even though they were not going to do anything to the apartment and go up on the rent over $300.

Long story short, my life was turned upside down when I had to abruptly store all my things in a storage unit and stay at a very costly hotel. Mainly because I have been unable to find anything affordable in my town. Because I work a full time job and earn money I don’t qualify for assistance and I don’t earn enough to qualify for regular rent, and I’ve been told I don’t qualify to buy a house. I have been searching and the rent cost in my city are absolutely outrageous and Salaries for regular everyday laborers are still the same, low.

What do I do? How do find a place to call home again? I can’t t believe I’m basically homeless after being in my own place for over 24 years!
