I lived with my boyfriend of 13 years in the home that he was raised in since kindergarten. The home was left to him and his two other siblings. His sister filed for bankruptcy, and she didn’t list the home as exempt. Because of this, we were evicted from the home that was completely paid for. I just don’t get how the bankruptcy and her lawyer could do this to us. I’m so upset because I lost things like my children’s pictures when they were little. I can never replace them. I also lost my father’s ashes. I emailed the lawyer, but he was so heartless and cold and couldn’t care less. He told me I would be arrested if I went on the property to get my things. He said that there was nothing left in the home, when I knew that was a huge lie. This lawyer also terrorized my therapy cats by having animal control come to get them. They took one of my cats, and I couldn’t find her for two weeks. I finally found her at PetSmart up for sale. I’m on a fixed income, and it cost me $100 that I couldn’t afford just to get her back, not to mention the anxiety and stress it caused me.

The lawyer has said so may lies it’s unbelievable, and he’s also doing all this during COVID-19. The eviction ban didn’t apply to us at all. We are now homeless and have been since the end of June. We are living in our truck and it’s so cold.
